A private library was an
unusual commission at the end of the 20th century.
The clients wanted flowing,
light spaces.

Since
both the clients are psychotherapists they were aware of the
need for the design to fulfill more than just a functional
brief.
The
geometry is complemented by the use of traditional techniques
and materials.
They wanted the
project as a whole to be united by a geometry that integrated
the individual with the building through a series of
interrelated harmonics.
The net result is a building of
considerable character, sited as it is, in a historic village
with views over the famous Cambridgeshire watermeadows
